Uinsure introduces home insurance monitoring service

Uinsure introduced a home-insurance monitoring platform, billed as the first of its kind in the UK market. The tool lets a policyholder’s cover be measured against current quotes from Uinsure’s seven-insurer panel multiple times annually, consistently throughout each year.
According to the company, this service provides a personalised experience for both the customer and the insurer. It alerts customers when similar cover is available for less, or better cover for a similar cost, regardless of who the policy is currently with.
The service matches quotes to the customer’s current cover, including any add-ons or specified items, ensuring a like-for-like comparison. Uinsure said there is no obligation to switch, and if a customer does want to switch, taking out a new policy can be done in around 60 seconds.
Martin Schultheiss, group managing director at Uinsure, stated that the service will hopefully lead to disrupting how customers purchase home insurance. He added that it will move them away from price comparison websites and back to Uinsure’s partners.
NatWest is the first partner to launch the service, which is live in the NatWest app as NatWest Insurance Tracker. Further bank and building society partners are set to roll it out over the coming year, with each partner distributing it under their own branding.
Uinsure noted that cover is matched on Defaqto rating as well as price, ensuring that any alert is for genuinely comparable cover, not just a cheaper quote. This service may change how customers engage with insurance, potentially leading to more informed decisions about their coverage.
